With 10 years passing since the destruction of the Terraformer, Darius Mason, grandson of Alec and Samanya (“Sam” from the last game), finds himself working as a freelancer miner and salvager. With the Terraformer destroyed, the entire population has been driven underground – there is no longer life on Mars, but in it instead. They want to see the world burn, and they are willing to make the surface of Mars uninhabitable to do it. Unfortunately a Terraformer on Mars has been destroyed and by some familiar friends and a new group called The Cultists. With the EDF crushed, Mars was liberated leaving the planet to thrive under the stewardship of the colonists and the Red Faction….but that was a long time ago.ĥ0 years after the liberation, things on Mars have drastically changed. This weapon is used to help end the war between the Red Faction and the EDF, but it is only with the help of the Marauders and their technology. Swinging a compliment of weapons and a very impressive maul, Alec Mason eventually retrieves a Nano Forge weapon from a desert-dwelling group called the Marauders. We knew this already though – Alec Mason ensured that life could persist by helping a group of colonists and the Red Faction overthrow the Earth Defense Force. In the launcher you can configure stuff like vsync (I always leave it off to minimize input lag personally), whether you want an FPS counter, your desired resolution etc.There is life on Mars. After that you should be able to simply launch from desktop, as of 1.6.0 there should be native Steam integration as well, and then you simply launch the game from Steam after installing Dash Faction over it.
When it prompts on where to install simply point it to the Red Faction folder on your hard drive in order to find RF.exe, assuming it didn't find it automatically, if you don't know how to find that then right-click on your Red Faction in your Steam library, go properties, local files, go "browse local files" and it'll take you right to it. Download the latest version of Dash Faction from here and install it (latest one will be linked on the "Downloading the installer" section, accepting the prompts about it patching the game and just leaving that checked.
